One Person Dead After One-Vehicle Wreck on 287

Wichita Falls police say one person is dead and one person is hospitalized following an afternoon wreck on Highway 287.
At 2:45pm, WFPD Officers responded to a one vehicle accident on 287 between Fisher Rd and Hammon Rd. A white Chevrolet SUV, occupied by 2 individuals, was traveling NB on 287 when it lost control striking a light pole and the concrete barrier dividing the NB and SB lanes.

The driver was taken by helicopter to the URHCS 11th Street ER to be treated for serious unknown injuries.

The passenger was pronounced dead on the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The condition of the driver is unknown at this time.

More information will be released as it becomes available by the WFPD Public Information Office.

The accident scene has been cleared and the highway has been reopened.

The injured driver has been identified as 39-year-old Michelle Doyle and the deceased passenger has been identified as 35-year-old Richard Hines, both of Haltom City, Texas. Hines will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy.

WFPD Officer Jeff Hughes says a male and a female were in a white Chevy SUV.

He says the male is the deceased and the female was taken to the hospital via Air Evac.

No word yet on their identities or who was the driver or the passenger.
