"It's really scary it goes all the way up from 1 or 2 years old to older adults so if you get that healthy lifestyle in a child's life early, it becomes a habit," he says.
He says it's crucial parents start now, teaching their kids healthy eating habits and showing them exercise can be fun.
"If you get that in their life early it's going to be an everyday thing, it's going to be better in the long run."
He says summer is the perfect time to start.
"Instead of this summer, them just sitting around get them active, get them involved There are organizations out there providing the programs, it's up to the families and the parents to make sure they're involved."
Brown says it's not just about building muscles or nutrition skills. Doing activities with your children will help build your relationship with them.
