Since 1976, The American Cancer Society has held its "Great American Smokeout". This year, the 37th Great American Smokeout will be held on November 15th. If you smoke, you're encouraged to use that day to quit. And just like in years past, students at the Junior High School level and college level are participating in the Great American Smokeout.  Barwise Jr. High and MSU are holding events to help smokers quit. While Barwise's event is Tuesday, November 13th at 8:30am ... MSU is adding a little more "splash" to its smokeout event on Thursday, November 15th. The Midwestern State University Respiratory Care Association is hosting a color run at Sikes Lake on that Thursday. Start time is 5pm ... entry fee is just $20. Proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society and the MSU Respiratory Therapists Association.
