The Susan G. Komen Foundation is reversing its decision to pull funding from Planned Parenthood by restoring 250 million dollars in grants. Today's announcement comes after a backlash from supporters and the general public after Komen pulled the funding saying Planned Parenthood was being investigated for allegedly spending tax money to perform abortions. Officials with Planned Parenthood say all of the money it receives from Komen goes toward breast exams .. never for abortions. The grant money given by Komen to various clinics --- is earmarked to provide mammograms to women who are low income and therefore can't afford to pay for the screening or they don't have insurance to cover the cost of a mammogram. The Wichita Falls Race For The Cure event is Saturday, October 13th at MPEC.If you want to get a jumpstart on helping fight breast cancer, The Bowl For The Cure is Sunday, February 19th.
