A Japanese study of 27 healthy adults found one cup of caffeinated coffee increased blood flow in the finger, which is an accurate gauge of blood circulation.
In fact, drinking just five ounces of coffee increased blood flow by 30% compared to drinking the same amount of decaf.
Researchers say caffeine may help open up blood vessels and reduce inflammation but the impact this has on heart health has not been determined.
