The warm weather is bringing out the rattlesnakes. Three people were treated for rattlesnake bites over the Fourth of July weekend; a stark reminder for those heading outdoors. Since May, 5 people have been treated for rattlesnake bites at United Regional.
Experts say if you're bitten, get to a doctor quickly.
Dr. Anne Rizzo with United Regional says, “The sooner they can come in the better. We can counteract the venom pretty quickly.
Experts say in Texoma, you're more likely to be bitten by a snake at night.
Here are some tips if you've been bitten. Get away from the area so you aren't bitten again, wash the bite with soap and water, and get to the hospital as soon as possible or call 911.
