A four-year-old boy lands in critical condition after police say he shot himself in the head.
It happened late last night in Houston and investigators say the boy's father admits to leaving a loaded handgun in a night stand drawer.
Brian Evans of Houston Police said, "The mother believes that the child may have found the weapon earlier and she was unaware of that. And the child may have disclosed, hidden the gun somewhere in the room."
The little boy's two-year-old sibling was asleep in the room when the shooting happened, but thankfully was not hurt. The Harrison County DA's office will determine whether to file charges in the case.
