Accident on Kemp Leaves One Person Dead

UPDATE: Family friends have identified the driver of the SUV that crashed Monday afternoon as the spouse of Linda Harper, Bob Harper.

Police say, Linda Ann Harper, 79, of Iowa Park, was the passenger in a red Chevy Trailblazer along Elliot Street. Family friends tell us Bob was driving. Officers report the two collided with a blue Chevy Silverado, and rolled over the hood of a  nearby blue Mercury Marquis.

Wichita Falls firefighters had to use the jaws of life to get the couple out of their vehicle.

Linda Harper died  Monday night in the hospital.  Her husband is still being treated, listed in good condition.

The drivers in the other two vehicles had minor or no injuries. Friends of the Harpers say the two were married for 62 years.


UPDATE: Police have released the identity of the person who died as 79-year-old Linda Ann Harper from Iowa Park.


One of two elderly people involved in a very bad accident near Target has passed away. It happened a little after 4:30 p.m. at Kemp and Elliot on Monday.

Three cars were involved in the accident and Wichita Falls firefighters had to use the jaws of life to get the two out of the SUV.

Officer Jeff Hughes with the Wichita Falls PD said names still are not being released as they continue to try and notify next of kin.
