Dozens of dogs along with a couple of cats filled the park next to the church for the blessing of the animals ceremony.
But in addition to the blessing, some pet lovers dished up some homemade treats for the guests of honor.
"They cant speak for themselves we want to be sure that they care recognized celebrated and lifted up as some of God's creatures," said John Dillard of FUMC.
Although this was the first time the church has hosted a blessing of the animals ceremony members say this will not be the last time.
