Emergency responders descended upon the area, for a curious crash call.
"We had a helicopter, over Lake Nocona, pretty much in the middle of the lake," explained Texas State Game Warden Chase McAninch, "[the helicopter] did crash in the middle of the lake, and it did sink."
Three Montague County men were inside the copter when it crashed, and officials said all three made it out with minor injuries.
"A couple of local residents were actually out there on the lake that were able to actually pull them out," said McAninch, "because all three were basically floating on the water, so they kind of pulled them out and basically pulled them to shore."
While it's known all three of the men on-board the helicopter made it out of the crash and safely to the shore, what isn't known is why the helicopter went down in the first place, and those answers won't be released until the FAA gets involved.
"Right now, we're just kind of waiting for them to gather information," said McAninch, "they're going to do their full investigation, and then kind of go from there and release more information as they go."
As for the helicopter, "right now it's still just sunk at the bottom of the lake," said McAninch, "It won't be going anywhere anytime soon."
