Wichita Falls city councilor Tim Ingle wants the city to find ways to help Midwestern State University and Vernon College expand.
He says  economic impact reports  show just how much the colleges add to the local economy ...
Ingle says if Sheppard Air Force base loses jobs in the future ... MSU might be able to replace many of the jobs that are lost.
He says if MSU could expand its athletic facilities it might bring in semi-pro athletes ... Which could lead to more people staying at hotels, going out to eat, and spending money.
     Tim Ingle
Wichita Falls City Councilor
"For a very small amount of money, we get a huge return. And that's where you get the bang for the buck. The taxpayers are paying tax dollars, they want to see a return on investment, and hopefully those taxpayer dollars should get to the point where we could actually lower taxes."
Ingle told the council we should turn Wichita Falls into a bigger college town ... and he pointed to Arlington as an  example.
