Danny Ahern says, "Irish and American we've got a lot of similiar things in our culture so I am glad to say I am Irish and American so it's a very, very proud thing for me."
THAT PRIDE IS WHY HE WANTED TO BRING FOLKS IN TEXOMA A SAMPLING OF HIS HERITAGE...NOW EVERY MARCH YOU CAN SEE A SEA OF GREEN AS FOLKS FLOCK TO DOWNTOWN TO CELEBRATE SAINT PATRICKS DAY.
Ahern says,"Our culture every second person you meet here is some type of Irish heritage. To be able to showcase our music and talents and just to give people something to do it's a lot of fun.
Alot of our military families really love that being able to go out to an event and enjoy the community like we do."
EVERY JULY WHEN WE CELEBATE OUR FREEDOM, CITIZEN AHERN DOES HIS PART BY BRINGING IN THE ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE FREEDOM FEST STAGE.
ONCE RIDERS COMPLETE THE HOTTER N HELL HUNDRED, THEY ARE ABLE TO SPIN THROUGH THE FINISH LINE VILLAGE FOR SOME LIVE MUSIC...FOR YEARS DANNY HAS HELPED RECRUIT THE ENTERAINMENT AND HE'S ALREADY ON A ROLL FOR THIS YEAR'S RIDE.
Ahern comments, "Hotter N Hell is also one of my favorites you know, a great event for this community."
HE ALSO GETS INVOLVED WITH MANY OTHER COMMUNITY EVENTS THROUGHTOUT THE YEAR, SUCH AS WHEN ZYTECO MUSIC FILLS THE AIR AND CRAWFISH PILE UP AT CAJUN FEST...AS PRESIDENT OF THE DOWNTOWN PROUD BOARD IT THRILLS DANNY TO SEE FOLKS OF ALL AGES LETTING THE GOOD TIMES ROLL DOWNTOWN.
Ahern says, "We're just trying to show off the niche we have and keep developing that. I think for the future and you know for future generations to preserve that is very, very important and it shows a sense of pride in our community."
DANNY ALSO HELPS FUTURE PERFORMERS GET THEIR START. HE RECENTLY SERVED AS A JUDGE WHEN YOUNG TALENT BELTED IT OUT FOR A CHANCE TO COMPETE ON A NATIONAL REALITY T-V SHOW...
Ahern, "There is a lot of hidden talent in this town, as far as music, and we got to see a lot of that. I'm excited to see these kids go forward and represent us in Dallas and hopefully make it somewhere very proud."
FOR OVER A DECADE DANNY AND JOHN DICKINSON HAVE BEEN CO-OWNERS OF THE IRON HORSE PUB DOWNTOWN...THE VENUE HAS PLAYED HOST TO BENEFITS FOR A NUMBER OF CHARITIES...AT ONE EVENT 60- MUSICIANS SHARED THE STAGE TO HELP A YOUNG BOY BATTLING LEUKEMIA.
Ahern comments, " We are very fortunate everyday and any of us, anytime, could be down and out and I know this community if I was down and out tomorrow people, it is just amazing they would come."
DANNY SAYS IT'S THOSE SAME PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY WHO MOTIVATE HIM TO CONTINUE DOING WHAT HE LOVES. BRINGING MUSIC,AND CULTURE TO MANY STAGES IN TEXOMA.

DANNY HAS BEEN PLAYING RUGBY SINCE HE WAS 8 YEARS OLD AND NOW VOLUNTEERS AS A COACH FOR THE MSU SQUAD...WHICH IS NEARLY THIRTY STUDENTS STRONG.
HE IS ALSO WORKING ON HIS BUSINESS DEGREE AT VERNON COLLEGE AND WAS RECENTLY NAMED STUDENT OF THE YEAR.
