Several Wichita Falls area pet organizations will join forces tomorrow to conduct door-to-door outreach program for pet owners.
Volunteers plan to hand out information in the 76302 zip code, which includes an area that has a large number of strays and unwanted animals.
That information will educate them on pet issues ranging from vaccination requirements to city and state pet laws and help them be more responsible pet owners.
"All of the agencies involved are looking to be more proactive. We are all set up to be reactive. When there's a problem is when we usually get involved so we want to get the resources out there... get the knowledge out there for whoever might need it," says Katrina Mitchell, administrator for Wichita Falls Animal Services Center.
Weather permitting, the door-to-door outreach will start tomorrow morning at 8:30.
