Facility at Vernon College's Century City Campus in Wichita Falls will move into their new facilities Monday after 8 months of renovations. The price tag on the project came in at $7 million. Funding came from a $5 million bond, and the rest from savings. College President Dusty Johnston says an increase in student population was the driving force behind the expansion.
"It's going to be 60 thousand square feet of new space and about 18,000 additional feet that we are renovating from the old part of the building that we were using," said Johnston.
Vernon College made use of an night club and movie theater in their renovations. But this is just the first phase of the project, in the second phase the allied health wing will open in June.
