DAVE RHONE WAS BORN SOUTH OF BOWIE AND GRADUATED FROM BOWIE HIGH SCHOOL IN 1943.
HE ENLISTED IN THE ARMY IN 1945 AND WAS DISCHARGED IN 1948.
RHONE IS THE YOUNGEST OF SEVEN BOYS- ALL OF THEM SERVED IN EITHER THE ARMY OR NAVY DURING WORLD WAR TWO...AND ALL MADE IT HOME SAFELY.

RHONE SAYS WHEN THE WAR ENDED THERE WERE STILL MANY JAPANESE WITH NO MEANS OF COMMUNICATION HIDING IN CAVES IN KOREA...WHO DIDN'T KNOW THE WAR WAS OVER.
HE AND HIS GROUP CLEARED THE CAVES OF JAPANESE WHO REFUSED TO SURRENDER.
DAVE AND HIS WIFE DOROTHY HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 52 YEARS- THEY HAVE THREE CHILDREN AND SIX GRANDCHILDREN.
