The MPEC in Downtown Wichita Falls was turned into a giant doctor's clinic for dozens of Texomans.
That's because the Wichita Falls Family Health Center hosted a big health fair that was free and open to the public.
Some of the free services those who attended got to take part in included included cholesterol testing, blood pressure checks and weight screening.
But the biggest focus on of this health fair was to help snuff out a big habit.
"Actually we did a study in our center and we found that smoking prevalence is the highest in this city compared to most of the state. As you may know, Texas is even higher than the rest of the country. So, we have a very, very high smoking prevalence here in the city and we wanted to educate people about the dangers of smoking and they need to stop," says Dr. Mattar with Wichita Falls Family Health Center.
In addition to providing helpful health information, this first time event also provided kids who attended with a big dose of fun through face painting and other activities.
