One fire on Missile Road threatened the entire neighborhood, and scorched at least four homes.
It all happened during one of the most devastating fire seasons in state history, and it prompted the Texas Forest Service to put renewed focus on their "Ready, Set, Go" program, which teaches people how to keep their homes safe during drought conditions.
"Our advice is to make your home safe now," said Bob Koenig with the Texas Forest Service, "cut that zone around your home, keep it clean. Clean your gutters, clean your roofs."
