Noon Guest: Dogs Liza and Goldie

We are not a shelter or humane society. If you have found a stray dog - please take the following steps to locate the rightful owner: (1) if there is no collar or no tags - please have the dog scanned for a possible micro-chip, (2) Run a Found ad in the Times Record News, the "Found" ads are free and can be done over the phone, (3) Contact the Animal Reclaim Center OR take the dog to them. Many times that is the first place an owner will look and if the dog isn't there - they can't be reunited with their dog. Many times dogs can be picked up in one town or location and transported to an entirely different town or location - so don't ever assume that the lost dog you have just found is from your neighborhood or the area where it was found wandering.
All of our dogs are either fostered in a boarding facility, our own homes, or the homes of caring volunteers. Some of our dogs for adoption may be dogs that have come from an area shelter or Animal Control facility. Some may be courtesy postings from other caring citizens who have found a dog that they are fostering till it can find a loving home.
Adopting a friend

If you have found a dog listed with us that you are interested in, you will need to do the following:
1. Contact us by e-mail or call (940) 781-2140. We will be happy to answer questions regarding the dogs posted and also to ask a few questions to see if the dog you are interested in is suitable for your family and lifestyle. We can also send an application form to you via e-mail. We do require qualification of the potential adopter prior to setting up a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in.

2. A home visit will be scheduled to ensure that your home and yard are safe and appropriate for the new addition to your family. Outside shelter in the form of a doghouse will most likely be required. A wire crate for your new dog will also be required either in lieu of or in addition to the doghouse. A list of suggested items to purchase for the new addition will be furnished. With the exception of applicants who live in apartments or townhomes - a secure, escape proof, fenced yard is required.

3. Pay the adoption fee. Adoption fees range from $105.00 to $150.00. This covers the dog being spayed or neutered, Rabies vaccination, Distemper/Parvo vaccination, Bordetella, worming for internal parasites,24 hour pet watch microchip, and all dogs have been heartworm tested and prevention given.

If you would like for us to assist you in your search for a particular breed of dog, or certain personality characteristics - we will be happy to do that also.

Come Visit Us!

Because our dogs for adoption are fostered in a boarding kennel or a private home, a meet and greet will be setup for you. If there are other dogs in the home that need to be introduced, we may ask that you bring them with you to meet the prospective adoptee. This ensures that everyone gets along and the new dog will be accepted when they are sent home.
