Judge rules mistrial in sexual assault case

WICHITA FALLS -

89th District Judge Charles Barnard ruled a mistrial in the trial of Dusti Gamble on Wednesday.

Gamble is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a young girl.

Concerns were raised over Gamble's competency and the judge granted a motion for a new competency exam.

The state said a new exam can be done today, but the judge ruled a mistrial and a new jury will be selected.

A tentative date for the new trial is Sept. 11.

We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
