The mayor for the City of Nocona has identified those on board a helicopter that crashed Sunday into Lake Nocona.

Mayor Robert Fenoglio says the pilot is Darren Fegnolio, his cousin and the two passengers are Derrick Morris of Saint Jo and Josh Shide from Munster.

According to Mayor Fenoglio, all three men suffered cuts and bruises but were otherwise, physically okay.

An FAA official says the pilot had a "student pilot certificate."

That means he was not authorized to carry passengers.

As for the helicopter, Mayor Fenoglio says it has now been retrieved from the bottom of Lake Nocona.

According to Sheriff Paul Cunningham, the chopper is mostly intact and the sheriff's office is storing it for the FAA at an undisclosed location.
