WICHITA FALLS - The FBI is investigating along with the Wichita Falls Police Department and other local agencies the Jan. 17 robbery at the former location of Legend Bank on Kemp and Kell, which is about 1 mile or so away from where Wichita Falls police say Wayne Watson also held up the carter's store here at Quail Creek Shopping Center back in November.
It was on the 29th of that month, last year, police believe Watson walked into the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money, eventually getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Lt. Mike Eppler, of the Dennison Police Department, said no charges have been filed yet, but they are now looking at Watson as a suspect in the robbery of the Texoma Educators Federal Credit Union back in December there as well.
“Of course, it’s important that we know if there is a problem somewhere,” Eppler said. “It is important that we share information we have with whatever agency may be having a problem with a certain thing. We do deal with the same individuals with different crimes. So, it is important there is an open line of communication between all the law enforcement agencies.”
Today, Wichita Falls police confirmed Watson was initially arrested yesterday morning in Ft. Worth.
The FBI, Texas Rangers, Tarrant County sheriff's office and the Dallas police department's swat team executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Isbell CT. just before 6 yesterday morning.
Watson has been booked in the Tarrant County Jail for aggravated robbery with more charges pending.
