Kelly Shackelford, president and CEO of Liberty Institute, weighed in for us on a number of topics.
When it comes to the presidential race, he says he thinks the election will be about whether Americans believe President Obama has done a good job and has delivered on his promises.
Shackelford says when an incumbent president is seeking re-election, it matters more how that president has done than who his opponent is.
He also weighed in on the so- called "war on women" discussion that's been playing out nationally.
"I think it shows a disrespect for the intelligence of women. I think women are not really into all these little tricks that are being played. I think women care more about how is this going to affect the economy, you know, how many jobs are we losing, what kind of country is being created for my children."
Shackelford says he believes most people have a real concern about the federal government trying to take over people's lives and imposing on religious denominations.
