Lawton Police are looking for a man they say shot and killed an out-of-town construction worker inside a hotel room over the weekend.

Officers say it happened around 8:15 pm at the Super 8 Hotel in the 2200 block of North Highway 277. According to another man who escaped the room unharmed, a man entered through an open door and threatened the occupants with a gun, telling them to get on the ground.

The uninjured man says a struggle began and the intruder shot the victim, identified as Johnny Allen, who was later pronounced dead at Comanche County Memorial Hospital. Witnesses describe the shooter as a black male, approximately five foot nine inches tall, about 140 pounds, wearing a scarf over his face.

As police were following that lead, they say they took a man into custody but they're not sure if he has any connection to the crime.

If you have information, call the Lawton Police Department at (580) 581-3500.
