35th Anniversary of Terrible Tuesday

It's been 35 years since one of the 10 costliest tornadoes to hit the United States in modern history barreled down on Wichita Falls.

Today we call it Terrible Tuesday, also known as the Red River Valley Tornado Outbreak.

At least 13 tornadoes tore through Texoma on April 10th, 1979. 10 people were killed in Vernon, 3 lost their lives in Lawton, 1 in Grandfield and 45 in Wichita Falls.

The tornado was one of the widest ever recorded and leveled a destructive path 8 miles long through Wichita Falls.

Tonight at 6, Darrell Franklin will bring us an in-depth look back on that day.
