57% of Sheppard AFB Workers Furloughed

About 57% of Sheppard's workforce are furloughed starting Tuesday morning because of the government shutdown. But if you work on base you do need to report to work.

Civilian workers who support excepted activities, like military operations and emergency services, will continue working through the furlough.

They will be paid retroactively once government funding is approved by congress.

Non-excepted civilians have been placed on emergency furloughs and are required to report to work today to receive furlough notice.
