A stretch of U.S. 380 is renamed for a Young County war hero

GRAHAM - People who travel from Graham to Bryson will be driving on a highway named in honor of a Young County war hero from World War II.

Graham native Henry King passed away in 2014, and in March Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 216 to have that stretch of U.S. 380 be named the Henry H. King Memorial Highway.

Thursday morning, the Graham VFW Post 8565 dedicated the highway in King's honor.

King served as an Army Air Corp Mechanic and survived the Bataan Death March as a prisoner.

The legislation to name the roadway after King was authored by Representative Drew Springer and sponsored by 30th District Senator Craig Estes. Both were in attendance at the dedication ceremony today.
