UPDATE: Both charges were dropped. One in March of 2015 and the second later that year in September.
A Wichita Falls doctor is in trouble with the law after deputies say they found drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop.
Neurologist Dr. Daalon Echols is charged with possession of dangerous drugs. He's also charged with possession of marijuana under two ounces.
Authorities say they were trailing behind Echols' vehicle which stopped four feet past the white stop bar at the stop sign. Echols gave deputies permission to search his vehicle and inside they say they found a partially smoked marijuana cigarette, a glass pipe containing a burnt leafy substance, and a plastic bag containing marijuana.
Deputies say they also found two tin containers with the word "altoids" written across the top. They say one of those containers contained ten-and-a-half blue pills and the other contained marijuana. An arrest affidavit states deputies asked Echols if the marijuana belonged to him and he said yes.
Echols is out of jail on a one-thousand-dollar bond.
