A Wichita Falls Group Starts an Anti-Bullying Camp

- A Wichita Falls group is taking steps to encourage area kids and give them the tools they need to stand up to bullies.

"Bikers Against Bulling" is partnering with the staff at Pueblo Boxing to host an anti- bullying camp.

The camp is in memory of 13-year-old Ashley Molina, who organizers say was a victim of bullying.

Instructors teach students self discipline, self respect, self confidence, and basic self defense skills.

"We're teaching them something that's going to help keep them out of the same type of situation that Ashley had been in. It's more uplifting and empowering to kind of just be able to help make sure our youth aren't getting into these kind of situations where they feel alone," Instructor Ben Peer says.

"It's all a matter of spreading the word and getting the kids out there and getting them more positive, and trying to avoid any extreme situations that might come up from that," camp volunteer John Bunch says.

Organizers say they want to empower area youth.

They say they started the camp because they don't want to see any kids hurting themselves or hurting others.

The current camp is about to wrap up, and they'll be hosting a new one next month.
