Affidavit Reveals Details of Burkburnett Shooting

- An arrest affidavit states an 11-year-old boy witnessed a Burkburnett woman shoot her 18-year-old son in an argument that started over a cell phone charger.

Tera Shea Wylie, 37, is charged with aggravated assault family violence with a deadly weapon.

The affidavit states an argument between Tera Wylie and the victim, identified as 18-year-old Kyler Wylie, started because Tera thought Kyler stole her cell phone charger.

Kyler and his 11-year-old brother, who police say witnessed the entire incident, say Tera locked Kyler out of the home.

He then re-entered through a side door which was unlocked.

Kyler and the 11-year-old say Tera became violent and aggressive which caused Kyler to become angry, at which point he threw a chair against a wall and grabbed a small table and flipped it.

Then Kyler and his younger brother say Tera hit Kyler on the back and then shot him.

Police say Tera says she shot her son because he was tearing up her house.

Tera is out of the Wichita County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
