A recently solved 12 year old Altus cold case will be the focus of the season premier of the TNT "Cold Justice" series Friday night.
Investigators of the series assisted Altus Police and other agencies in the disappearance of Tracy Lynn Allen. Police say her ex- husband, 49 year old Garland Allen, told his mother in May, 2001 that his wife ran away with another man. Authorities say the couple had a history of domestic disturbances and custody issues over their 2 children, and the couple had divorced the year before Tracy vanished.
After an Altus detective began working with cold justice investigators last year, a warrant was issued for Allen and he was arrested in Wise county. Authorities say he then led them to a remote area near Tom Steed Reservoir in Kiowa county where he said he had buried his ex wife's body.
After several days of excavation, Tracy Allen's remains were found. Garland Allen is awaiting trial or a plea on a charge of second degree murder.
