Forty-six-year-old Manuel Daniel is charged with first degree murder for the death of 49-year-old Melissa Bost and faces life in prison or life without parole.
Investigators say on February 28th they found Bost's body inside an SUV parked in an alleyway in the 1000 block of East Sutherland. They believe she was killed the night before at Daniel's house in the 900 block of South Baucum.
A woman who testified she witnessed the murder told jurors Daniel stabbed Bost and another man hit her with a crowbar.
During closing arguments the prosecution warned jurors they would take them on a trip through the underbelly of Altus. The prosecution pointed out how Daniel's carpet had been ripped out of the home and cleaning agents were used to clean up the scene.
They also said investigators found a reddish fingerprint, identified as Daniel's, in his home with a hair running through it.
However, the defense says the police never found a drop of blood from Bost in Daniels' home and that none of Daniel's blood was found in the mother of three's vehicle as well.
