A former Altus man is now behind bars in connection with the 2001 disappearance of his wife.

49-year-old Garland Paul Allen was arrested in Decatur Monday night after the Jackson County District Attorney's Office issued the warrant last week for second degree murder of his wife.

Altus Deputy Chief Mike Bell says the death of Tracy Lynn Allen cold case was reopened almost four years ago and their investigation lead them to evidence that connects Allen to Tracy's disappearance.

Allen is still in a Wise County jail awaiting extradition to Jackson County.
