An Altus man charged with running over and killing a cyclist last month is out of jail tonight after bonding out.
Thirty-year-old Chad Kelly is charged with first degree manslaughter and failure to comply with requirements when involved in an accident involving death.
Authorities say Kelly called them from his apartment and said he ran over something with his truck while on his way home.
Jackson County sheriff's deputies say Kelly had hit and killed 26-year-old James Powell Charydczak who was riding a bicycle.
They say the impact of the crash threw the man 140 feet.
Kelly is due in court April 8.
