American Legion Raises Money for Female Veterans

- As people across Texoma gear up to celebrate our nations' veterans Monday, American Legion Post 202 is doing their part by raising money to help local veterans in need.

The ladies auxiliary hosted their annual garage sale Saturday.

Shoes, clothing, house hold items and toys were all for sale.

The money raised will go to help female veterans, providing them with anything they need.

Organizers say sometimes women get overlooked, but they need just as much support as the men because they have been through the same experiences.

“They've also been over there and seen a lot also, they have tragedies and things you know and even a bottle of cologne or a new bra, things like that means the world to them and for us it's simple things.,” says Organizer Beverly Doyle.

If you would like to help female veterans in need just stop by Post 202, it's located at 1101 E. Scott Ave.
