Apartment Complexes Advise Residents on Winter Weather

The winter weather has many apartment complexes in Wichita Falls asking residents to protect their pipes.

Hunters Crossing has already put up signs asking residents to drip their faucets and turn on their heaters to prevent their pipes from bursting with the cold temperatures.

We also spoke with the French Quarter Apartment Complex and Arbor Creek who are also suggesting their residents to do the same.

But since we are in stage four water restrictions and our lakes are in critical condition, city officials say they highly discourage residents from running their water.

Public Works Director Russell Schreiber says there are other ways to protect your pipes.

You can leave your cabinets open to let heat in and you can purchase heat tape to wrap around your pipes. Hunters Crossing does provide heat bulb residents and information on other ways to protect your pipes.
