Tomorrow is the 27th anniversary of Archer County's only cold case murder, but county officials say that unsolved murder may soon be marked solved.
Detectives have decided to re-open the case.
According to sheriff's deputy Simon Dwyer, because of new technology and DNA evidence, a suspect in the murder may now be identified.
On Jan. 20 1985, 55-year-old Tom Gillispie was found fatally shot on his property in northwest Archer City.
Gillispie had been shot three times: one shot grazed his head, the other two were fatal chest wounds.
This case went before a grand jury, but no one was ever indicted.
