Attorney Withdraws from Garza Murder Case

The attorney appointed to represent an unruly murder defendant withdraws his representation.

Public Defender Brennon Brady was representing Jerry Joe Garza.

He withdrew today, citing numerous but failed attempts to get Garza to communicate and participate.

Court documents also say Garza has engaged in a pattern of hostile behavior in and out of court that has caused a breakdown the attorney-client relationship.

Garza is charged with the murder of Monica Partida, a Wichita Falls mother of three.

Partida was found stabbed to death in her home off Britain St. in Feb. 2011.

We've witnessed Garza's lack of cooperation for ourselves.

In October, this is what happened when he lunged at one of our photographers after a court hearing.

Other instances of his disruptive behavior include yelling profanities at the judge and refusing to leave his jail cell to go to court hearings.

Seventy-eighth District Judge Barney Fudge has appointed Reggie Wilson to now represent Garza.
