The spotlight is on autism, as April is Autism Awareness month

And today, "Families for Autism Support of Texoma," hosted their annual Autism Conference at the MPEC.

Dozens of people came to listen to keynote speaker, James Williams, who has Asperger Syndrome and is a certified rehabilitation counselor and life coach.

He said while it can be difficult for those with autism they must "seek first to understand, then seek to be understood."

Coordinators say the day provided methods for people with autism to deal with it.

"It helps me learn tools to help my son as he gets older, and helps me deal with issues that happen in autism and help him learn and grow to become an amazing adult," said Tiffany Humpert, one of the Autism Conference of Texoma Coordinator

And exhibitors sold different health items during the day- long conference.
