A WFISD teacher is awarded one thousand dollars for the 2012 Dorothy Moser Huffman award for creative teaching.
Becca Coe was declared this year's winner.
She was congratulated by her grand kidswho surrounded her with lots of hugs at the presentation.
The award goes to one WFISD 3rd grade teacher who uses creativity in the classroom to help educate the students in new and inventive ways.
"I try to do things that the kids can think of because they are much more creative then I am. So we try to play games and come up with fun things to help us learn," Coe said.
Coe has been teaching for 11 years at West Foundation Elementary and says she already has ideas on how she plans to use the award money in her classroom.
