Police say the woman's son found her body and called them around six last night. The police chief say the freezer has a lid with a hatch-like closing. Police say the lid was closed and the woman had no obvious signs of trauma.
For now, the death is being treated as a homicide.
Chief Dean Sullivan with the Mineral Wells Police Dept. explained, "You also have a suffocation hazard because there's a seal on the door so eventually the interior environment is deprived of oxygen and so that's why it's too soon to speculate on this particular incident."
The chief says it could turn out to be just a tragic accident.
