After receiving a $9.25 bond Bowie ISD is now taking bids for its new high school athletic complex.

The facility will include new tennis courts, a softball field and baseball field.

It's all part of several different renovations bowie ISD will undergoing throughout the next year.

Both the softball and baseball fields will be made out of artificial turf.

The tennis court will have six courts, two more than what the district currently has.

But above all the new complex will make the students safer.

"Right now our kids travel across town to go to baseball, softball and tennis and having everything at one facility will really make it safer for the kids," said Steven Monkres, the Bowie ISD Superintendent.

The new fields and courts built will be right next to the football stadium so all athletic facilities can be together.
