The Chevy Spark Breast Cancer Awareness Event was held on Tuesday evening at Sikes Senter Mall to celebrate those in the fight against the disease.

The event raised more than $3,100 dollars for the local chapter of the American Red Cross Society.

Women from across Texoma gathered to hear from guest speaker, Heidi Floyd, who talked about her journey in fighting breast cancer while pregnant with her son.

Floyd says she hopes her story and how she dealt with the disease will help others.

"Whether you have breast cancer, someone in your family has breast cancer or you just know someone; you have the ability to make a change in their lives," Floyd says. "The people that are putting this event together, they have no idea thousands of people could be helped by this."

A Chevy Spark was painted pink and featured KFDX Executive Producer Karel Davis' face on it.

Davis was this year's honorary survivor.  She is a seven-year breast cancer survivor.
