Brenda Lundy started her day the same way she does every day- walking.
"I was just, I was just readin' my Bible and I said okay, now it's time for me to go and do my walk and talk to the Lord," said Lundry.
That daily ritual and personal communion time led Lundy right to our pay-it-forward truck..
And Lundy says she saw the truck and immediately thought of her pastor Allen Smith because of all the service he does for others.
"He does a lot for every member and outside of the church because I figured he'd be best to give it because he's not gonna do anything but give it away anyway," Lundry said talking about her pastor.
Smith works on Sheppard Air Force Base at the Sheppard Inn, but when he's not there he's at Nehemiah Bible Based Church
But unlike many churches, Smith doesn't receive compensation for the time he spends ministering.
He does it, simply because he loves it.
"I don't really worry about bein' on a salary and getting paid at the church. I just love doin' what I do," said Smith talking about his church.
So when Lundy called him to tell him she wanted to give him three hundred dollars, he was speechless.
"I'm excited, first I thought she was playin',” said Smith
Smith quickly realized she wasn't messing around and says he immediately thought of his congregation.
"We have a group that's out there at Walmart right now doin' a fund raiser so I’ll be takin' them all out for lunch," said Smith.
In fact, Smith plans on using all of the money to help others.
