Burk Man pleads to sexual assault of a teenager, received probated sentence

A Burkburnett man pleads to sexually assaulting a teenage girl and gets a probated sentence this morning.

31-year-old Daniel Richison was arrested last year by Wichita Falls police after being contacted by CPS. Police say the victim's mother found messages on her daughter's phone that the two were in a relationship.

The girl told investigators she met Richison in a car in an alley and he began trying to have sex with her, but she felt uncomfortable, and got out of the car and left.

Police say Richison admitted being in the car with the girl and engaging in sex, but denied he had intercourse with her.

Richison originally was charged with indecency with a child and sexual assault, but took a plea offer today for sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to 10 years community supervision and a $1,000 fine.
