From gumbo to jambalaya and plenty of crawfish all the best parts of Cajun culture were on display in downtown Wichita falls Saturday.

Bands played live music all day to the thousands of people enjoying this year's Cajun Fest.

Crawfish was the main draw.

The Elks cooked up for than two tons of the mudbugs.

Though Wichita Falls is more than 600 miles away from New Orleans, often referred to as the center of Cajun culture, festival attendees say they felt like they were in the heart of Louisiana.

The food's pretty authentic.  I mean, it nails it.  It reminds me of being down there," says attendee Dominique Ramos.

Proceeds from the event, which is hosted by downtown Wichita Falls development, will help the organization continue its mission of revitalizing downtown and bringing more fun events to the city.
