People across Texoma got to celebrate Hispanic culture Saturday at the Downtown Farmer's Market.

The 2013 Calle Ocho Latin Festival gave people a chance to taste traditional Hispanic cuisine listen to traditional music and shop from a variety of local vendors.

The day was marked with an official city proclamation declaring October 5th 2013 as Hispanic Heritage day in wichita falls.

Organizers say they are happy to get to share their culture with people across Texoma.

“My favorite part is seeing the people coming in and enjoying the food, how much they like it, the music, just having the whole community come together,” says Zavala President Roger Palma.

Zavala Hispanic Initiative organized the event.

The money raised Saturday will help provide scholarships to kids in need.

If you didn't head out earlier the festival continues till 11 p.m. Saturday night.
