Camp Fire is determined to allow kids to splash this summer, even if Wichita Falls elevates to Stage 5 water restrictions.

The Harrell Park pool is a popular draw for kids in camp fire's after school program and summer camp.

However, once the city enacts Stage 5 water restrictions, filling and refilling public pools with city water will not be allowed.

And after agonizing on whether to keep the pool open once Stage 5 restricting start camp fire's executive director says board members decided to make it happen.

"We will be doing actually like the city is doing and we'll be hauling in water to replenish our pool," says Bettye Ricks, executive director of Camp Fire.

Ricks says board members are now checking prices of different water haulers, which they believe will be paid for through private donations.

Ricks says the board hopes to have Harrell Park pool open by May 16th so kids can enjoy swimming after school.
