Cars Get Stranded in Flooded Street

Several streets in Wichita Falls looked like rivers Thursday morning. Around 8, four cars were stranded on East Scott near Fort Worth after police say they ignored barricades blocking the road.

Police closed the street off earlier in the morning because of flooding in the area. Officials say when you see a barricade on the road, do not attempt to go around.

Officer Brandie Banda of the Wichita Falls Police Department said, "They're there for a reason, for your safety. So obviously don't go around those barricades, give yourself more time to stop because when the roads are wet your going to need more time.

Officer Brandie Banda says speed limits posted on roadways are for dry weather when conditions are perfect, so if you see rain or any water slow down.
