In Lawton, the first degree murder trial of a man accused of killing his fiance's two-year-old son came to a close after a week of testimony, with a guilty verdict.

Charles Edward Weimer is guilty of first degree murder-child abuse.

The jury recommended life in prison, and sentencing will take place august 6th. Punishment ranged from 10 years to life.

Weimer said the boy's fatal injuries in 2012 came from a fall down a stairway outside an apartment.

But Comanche County prosecutors say medical evidence showed the boy was the victim of child abuse, with injuries to the head and abdomen.
