Charles Weimer Murder Trial Goes into Second Week on Monday

-
Testimony will go into a second week Monday in the trial of a Lawton man accused of killing his fiancé's two year old boy.
Charles Edward Weimer is charged with first degree murder-child abuse.
Police say he claimed the boy fell down a flight of steel and concrete  stairs at their Lawton apartment in 2012.
Medical reports show the child had five wounds on his head and signs of a punch in the abdomen.
Defense attorneys say their client was telling the truth when he told authorities the fatal injuries his fiancé's son suffered came from the fall.
Weimer gave a statement to police that the boy wanted to walk down the steps himself and fell down while Weimer was closing the apartment door.
However, Comanche County prosecutors say the medical examiner's report shows the boy's injuries were not consistent with Weimer's story.
